Regarding:The Tribunal Temple and Dunmer Religion By the Fourth Era, the people of Morrowind had come to realize all three of the Tribunal were gone. No trace of them was to be found, but it became clear they were no longer in Mundus. With the unexplained absence of their gods, the Tribunal Temple faced several years of instability and in-fighting. Eventually, the practice of ancestor worship was officially reinstated, and the Tribunal were said to have joined the ancestors, to serve from beyond. When he returned, the Nerevarine encouraged these thoughts. He also advocated for the good Daedra to be considered among those ancestors again, as in times past. As a whole, the Dunmer people accepted these views, combining the teachings of Vivec and the Tribunal with the rituals of honoring their ancestors.
House Dres and the Imperials in Morrowind In the years preceding the Nerevarine's return, House Dres and House Hlaalu had allied themselves strongly with King Helseth and the Empire. When Lord Voryn Indoril came back to Morrowind, he was able to shift the balance of power in House Hlaalu, placing it in the control of the Camonna Tong, rather than Imperial-sympathizers. However, the Nerevaine was unsuccessful at redirecting House Dres. They had profited too much from their alliance and were unwilling to renounce Imperial influences. During the revolution House Dres fought on behalf of the King, and afterward they refused to join the Nerevarine's new state. In retaliation, their lands were seized and distributed among the loyal Great Houses, particularly House Indoril, which had suffered much under Imperial rule. Dres became a rogue house, clinging on to only the smallest fraction of their former holdings, where they face constant warfare from the loyalist Houses.
Following the revolution, the Imperial legion had been ordered to peaceably leave Morrowind and return to Cyrodiil. Most troops left as instructed, but several garrisons remained behind to fight the Dunmer. These have been pushed from Vvardenfell. Now their only strongholds remain within the lands still controlled by House Dres. Even allied the two groups cannot hope to hold off the other Houses and the Temple without aid from the Empire.
