A) Of course! While the country of Morrowind is central to the 4E plot, playing TES III is not a must. We will strive to keep all important events accessible to Oblivion players. A Historical Overview has been provided to summarize the important events of TES: Morrowind and Oblivion. The Resources Page provides links to sites that can fill in any additional information.
Q2) What areas of Tamriel are available for the RP?
A) Only the countries of Cyrodiil and Morrowind are available. Other provinces are superfluous to the plot and would encourage people to spread out rather than to interact with other members.
Q3) Where are the boards, why can't I see them?
A) The RP boards (Morrowind and Cyrodiil) are not visible to guests or unapproved users. When your character is accepted, the roleplaying boards will be available.
Q4) What's the deal with Gold? Can I buy anything with it?
A) Gold is earned by posting on the boards. There are future plans for a shop at which you may qualify for perks based on the amount of gold you have earned. Until a shop is opened, gold will be used for special rewards in events.
Q5) I want my character to be in a faction, where do I apply for one?
A) If you wish your character to belong to a faction from the beginning, please include it in your application. If you wish them to join a faction after they have been approved, then you may simply RP them going to a local guild hall and joining. Don't forget to post on the Faction Registry so that we can maintain an updated list of the characters in each faction. Keep in mind there is a limit of one faction (plus one House) per character.
Q6) How should my character carry out missions for his/her faction?
A) If there are no active members in your faction (that outrank you), then you may use an NPC to send your character on quests. If there is an active member, we would prefer you to take quests from that person.
Q7) How do skills and combat work on 4E?
A) 4E does not use a level/stat system for combat. (i.e. No "-4 HP" kind of stuff, instead it should be "he could feel himself weakening" etc.) Remember, if you are engaged in combat with another player, you may not describe their actions or the effects of yours without that person's permission.
Q8) Can my character have a special power? (e.g. Telepathy, prophecy, etc.)
A) Not without permission from an admin. Note: the magical arts — like invisibility spells — do not count as special powers. You do not need admin permission to have magic.
